This step was taken in the face of a constant increase in the number of Telegram channels in Russia, among which it is increasingly difficult to find platforms with a live audience, transparent statistics and the most suitable theme for a particular brand. At the same time, according to Gooroo Tools, only about 8% of channels wishing to advertise are actually used by advertisers, since manual selection methods inevitably narrow the potential list and require additional resources.
One of the main obstacles is subjectivity when choosing channels. Advertising catalogs have their own rating systems, and only 3-5% of the best sites usually fall into the top. In addition, some channels are problematic due to cheating or fraud activity, and the target audience of a particular channel is not always obvious. The situation is complicated by changes in legislation: from January 1, 2025, responsibility was introduced for advertising in channels with more than 10 thousand subscribers, if they are not registered in the Roskomnadzor register. So, according to Gooroo Tools, as of February 2025, there are only 553,642 live channels in Russia. Of these, 90,980 channels (16% of the total) without 18 +/media topics, not "bot," with a level of 5-90% involvement, publish a message at least 1 times a week. 62,818 channels (11% of the total) are ready to advertise.
