2012: HP-UX 11i v3

On May 12, 2012 the HP company provided updates of the operating system of HP-UX which will allow customers to increase efficiency of use of the NR servers and level of availability of the most exacting applications used for crucial business of processes.

New opportunities of HP-UX 11i v3, including a number of improvements in area of clusters of high availability HP Serviceguard and solutions NR on virtualization, will allow customers:

• Guarantee high availability of crucial applications with support of broader spectrum of storage systems and databases, including the HP platforms LeftHand P4000, Sybase ASE 15.7 and Enterprise DB, using HP solutions of Serviceguard for protection against failures;
• Increase efficiency of use of servers thanks to the software (S) of HP-UX of Virtual Partitions (vPars) allowing to transfer crucial computing loadings to virtual environment. Initially to software of HP-UX of vPars it was available only on flagman models of HP of Superdome 2 — now it available on all models of HP servers Integrity, helping to optimize server resources;
• Simplify management of loadings in virtual environment, thanks to the uniform graphic user interface available now both for HP-UX vPars, and for HP Integrity Virtual Machines 6.1;
• Optimize use of resources due to performance improvement of input-output (I/O) for the applications which are actively using storage systems together with HP-UX vPars. Software of HP-UX of vPars provides high scalability of resource-intensive applications, such as business intelligence and intelligent data analysis, at the expense of the accessibility of these annexes to 2048 volumes within one virtual partition;(1)
• Reduce the costs connected with an input-output subsystem for HP servers of Superdome 2 and Integrity blade-HP servers more than for 50% thanks to a new possibility of sharing of cards of input-output by several virtual partitions of vPars.

2014: New version of HP-UX 11i v3

HP continues development of the ^[1].

On April 29, 2014 the company announced a release of the new version of HP-UX 11i v3 and its opportunities of assistance to users in management of a business and critical environment, both in the local environment, and in "cloud" - with the minimum idle times.

It helps to reduce "windows" of scheduled downtimes and to increase efficiency. Advantages to users:

• Updating of the platform of the virtualized applications with HP Integrity i2 to HP Integrity i4 without idle times.
• Virtualization of big workloads and doubling of resources of the virtual machine in comparison with the previous version up to 32 main cores and 256 GB of memory.
• Reduction of time of reset up to 50% by means of the Soft Reboot function, ^[2], available for ^[2] blade-HP servers, ^[2].
• Repeated setup of the virtualized input-output subsystem without ^[3].

The new version is submitted in four editions: basic operating environment - Base OE, the environment of high availability - High Availability OE, the environment of virtualization of servers - Virtualization Server OE and a system environment of data centers - Data Center OE.
