The solution for management of Business Service Management (BSM) 9.0 HP business services allows IT personnel to manage effectively performance and readiness of applications within the signed agreement on the service level. HP BSM 9.0 provides the following advantages:

  • The industry-first dynamic model of service completely updates a working environment of an application service irrespective of whether the application locally or remotely, in physical or virtual environment is run. Complete idea of the available IT services is guaranteed to service staff that helps to exempt users from need to penetrate into technical issues and to reduce search time and fault recoveries.
  • New opportunities of cooperation with use of the combined Web 2.0 services provide delivery of urgent data to a certain employee group in the necessary context by means of various interfaces, including mobile devices. As a result there is an opportunity to quicker make decisions and to cope with problems.
  • Full automation of settlement process of incidents considerably reduces costs for search and fault recovery, reduces the average time of repair and creates conditions for performance improvement. The HP solution of BSM 9.0 integrates components of HP of Business Availability Center 9.0 (BAC), HP Operations Manager i 9.0 (OMi) and HP Network Management Center (NMC) 9.0.


The feature of the HP solution of BSM is that it is intended not only for IT specialists: it is capable to teach to interact business departments with IT departments of the enterprise, to teach to speak them one language. For example, the message "Issue of credit cards", clear to business stopped, HP BSM translates into the language clear to the administrator of IT systems, so: "On the X33 server the application loaded the processor for 100%". Besides, the solution allows to trace as there takes place process of service of each specific client: it automatically checks timeliness of accomplishment of processes and quickly informs the head if in his department or department execution of one or several requests is delayed.

Essential plus of a BSM system is the possibility of visualization of work of all components of IT infrastructure in interrelation with the current business processes. The solution allows to trace as the agreement on the level of provision of services signed between IT and business (SLA) is implemented. Without similar tool in many cases it is impossible to understand whether this agreement is implemented.

Modern monitoring systems allow to display all services which are provided or support IT departments as set of the interconnected configuration units. Thus, existence of the module in which different versions of the notification and providing information on the status of work and also setup of uniform rules of preventive activities are provided is necessary.

At the same time each stage or a new status of the formalized process will be reflected in a monitoring system. Thanks to it, for example, the bank has an opportunity to monitor passing of loan applications (from the moment of filling of the questionnaire and until issue or failure in the credit) according to change of the status of request for all clients.

One of the main advantages of modern monitoring systems is providing the uniform consolidated mechanism of dynamic filtering, the analysis and correlation of the event information arriving from all possible systems and types of monitoring. It allows to analyze the available IT resources on the basis of reporting data, and then to optimize them for more effective use – for example, virtual or physical servers in terms of their loading, use of disk space, processor or cluster power, etc.
