Since December 31, 2012 support of HP of OpenView Service Desk is stopped.
The Digital Design company in May, 2011 presented the solution on the basis of the Omnitracker platform for migration of the Service Desk systems based on a product of HP of OpenView Service Desk 4.5 completing the lifecycle in the near future.
The solution of Digital Design represents the application for process automation of ITSM. The product will allow to carry out "soft" migration of the Service Desk system on a new software platform with preserving of all current functionality of HP SD 4.5 and the minimum changes of the interface. For the solution of a bigger circle of IT tasks Digital Design developers expanded a line of the Service Desk functions.
Dmitry Romanov, the director of the department of infrastructure solutions, Digital Design, comments: "Now many users of Service Desk from HP have a question of migration on other platform because version 4.5 completes the lifecycle. HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5, perhaps, the product, most widespread in the recent past, used in the average and large organizations. It is not ideal, and its shortcomings are known, but their bypasses are worked out so the solution can be considered successful. To replace HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5 HP provided the new product which is based on absolutely other platform. It is more powerful, we scale not less, also has huge opportunities for integration, but it is "much heavier" - it more difficult to configure and more difficultly to support. The new product is interesting to very large organizations and, as stated, approaches "on the status". However, for most the companies the successor of HP of OpenView Service Desk 4.5, on the one hand, is excessive, on the other hand, roads. Specialists of Digital Design developed the solution based on the Omnitracker platform which is capable to become replacement of HP of OpenView Service Desk 4.5. The product has a broad set of integration interfaces, saves all practices and operating experience of an old system and also has the full web interface convenient both for users, and for IT specialists. The choice of the Omnitracker platform is caused by its high functionality which covers all functionality of HP of Service Desk and also offer additional opportunities which were not enough in a product of HP".
The interface of systems is most uniform, has the similar forms and an operating procedure with objects, in it data models and business logic are saved - therefore, users will have no need for retraining. Among new opportunities of the solution of Digital Design It should be noted emergence of one of the most significant Service Desk functions - the full-function web interface allowing to interact with it via the browser and to conduct joint work to the employees who are not in one office. Creation of lifecycles of objects of a system will give the chance to set and trace a way of the movement of an object at its processing, and the built-in system based on Crystal Reports will allow to create and publish reports by means of graphic masters.
