On May 1, 2023, Casana introduced the Heart Seat, a smart toilet seat capable of measuring a range of vital signs of the body. The solution is designed to facilitate monitoring of patients' health at home.

Sensors integrated in the seat allow you to determine your heart rate, blood oxygen saturation level (SpO2) and some other parameters. The collected data is then sent through a secure connection to medical personnel. The seat supports several types of wireless communication: these are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, as well as 4G/LTE. Thus, the communication can be performed in any convenient manner. Power is provided by a battery, the charge of which is enough for several years of use - connection to the electrical network is not required.

It is noted that with the release of the Heart Seat toilet seat, Casana is opening a new category of medical technologies that provide simple, integrated and consistent health monitoring at home. According to the Grand View Research report, the volume of the global home healthcare market in 2020 was estimated at $305.7 billion. The cumulative annual growth rate (CAGR) is expected to be 7.9% between 2021 and 2028.

Casana also collaborates with a number of research organizations to expand the functionality of its solution. In particular, it is planned to add means for measuring systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Based on the indicators received from the seat, medical staff will be able not only to track the current state of health of patients, but also to predict possible negative trends. And this will allow you to quickly prescribe the necessary treatment. Heart Seat sales will begin by the end of 2023.^[1]
