Enterprise Buildings Integrator EBI R430

The Honeywell company released in the spring of 2014 version R430 of a management system for buildings of Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) which at the same time simplifies and increases efficiency of the personnel servicing the building due to use of the most modern technologies. In this version of EBI R430 unique opportunities, in particular the simplified process of configuring of a system, drawing up schedules of operation of the equipment and expanded control functions allowing to increase even more efficiency of operation, to reduce energy consumption and operating costs are implemented. Among other innovations It should be noted more powerful mechanism of automation, advanced access from mobile devices and the processed user interface significantly accelerating accomplishment of both daily, and more difficult transactions.

This version of the EBI system is released taking into account global trends in high-tech solutions on integrated management of buildings where all automated engineering and other low-current systems are integrated together and function as a part of corporate data networks. Such consolidation of all systems gives the chance to receive broader picture of a status of all equipment, to increase daily performance and to achieve cost reduction for all life of the building. According to Administration of general services of the USA (U.S. General Services Administration), in the hi-tech building it is possible to achieve reduction of energy consumption for 14% and to increase efficiency of operation by 12%.

For achievement of so high operational rates, more than a quarter of all projects on equipping of the new objects and upgrade operating which are conducted now by Honeywell company in a varying degree implement the principles of the integrated management of subsystems of buildings, and it is five times more, than for the last decade.

Updates in the new version of the EBI system:

  • The improved abilities to integrate – now the EBI system maintains the bigger number of network services through which administrators and IT specialists will be able to use new methods of collecting and import of data and also to turn information into practical recommendations.
  • The increased efficiency of operation – the staff of service of the equipment can configure and coordinate work of engineering subsystems of the building, including heating/cooling, air ventilation, lighting, the fire warning and the ACS, by means of schedules and more powerful mechanism of automation in a few minutes.
  • The improved access from mobile devices – even being outside the serviced building, the operator can get access to a system not only from the smartphone as was earlier, but also from the tablet computer via the interface which is completely repeating the usual interface of the EBI workstation and opening access to all these buildings, for example to a status of systems and trends. Thus, the operator can quickly assess a situation in real time and make operational decisions.
  • The intuitive interface – in the new version of the program the appearance and a method of navigation in general remained the same, but there were some useful opportunities, in particular drag and drop (drag-and-drop), new, but usual on other programs, which significantly simplify daily work and allow to study quicker and more simply skills of work with a system.

The system of Honeywell of EBI represents one of the most known and modern management systems for buildings by means of which it is possible to integrate together the different subsystems of the building which are responsible for security, comfort, a microclimate, fire safety, energy consumption, etc. By means of this system it is possible to get the centralized access to all necessary resources and data, to make the broad picture of a situation, more quickly to monitor a situation, to provide the increased protection of an object and also to manage geographically spaced objects which are a part of one infrastructure more effectively.

Besides, the EBI system supports open industry protocols, for example BACNet, OPC, ModBus and LonWorks that gives the chance to set and use the equipment and the software of other producers. Such architecture opens unlimited opportunities of scalability and operational flexibility.

For the last ten years over 20,000 EBI systems more than in 160 countries of the world were installed. Owners of the operating systems can easily upgrade to the new version to have new functionality and to increase payback.
