2024: Product Announcement
In early June 2024, Huawei introduced a new gadget that will help the elderly in emergency situations. A sensor with artificial intelligence is able to recognize a person's fall and report it to relatives or rescue services.
At the heart of its work is a millimeter-wave radar that continuously monitors the position and movements of a person indoors. The sensor clearly identifies three potentially dangerous situations: falling, falling out of bed and sleep disorders. In the event of an emergency, the device lightning quickly sends alarms to specified contacts, using various communication channels - from traditional phone calls to modern SMS and push notifications.
Developers from Huawei claim that their sensor is capable of capturing even barely noticeable movements, such as breathing, which allows you to accurately record the presence of a person in an area of up to 25 square meters.
The company noted that the new gadget has wide integration capabilities with existing Huawei smart solutions for the home. It can independently control lighting, focusing on the number of people in the room, as well as effectively weed out false positives caused by the work of household appliances, such as robotic vacuum cleaners.
The development company emphasizes its attitude to user privacy. The radar technology used in the sensor completely eliminates the collection of images and sounds, which makes its installation absolutely safe in any corner of the house. In the Chinese market in June 2024, the cost of the device is 1399 yuan (about 17,500 rubles).
According to Huawei, the Huawei sensor is positioned exclusively as an auxiliary tool that cannot completely replace medical devices or guarantee absolute security. Its main task is to serve as an additional assistant for the elderly, reducing the risks of tragic consequences in emergency situations.[1]
