2021: Annex Release

At the end of November 2021, a group of computer vision researchers from the Blavatnik School of Computer Science at the University of Tel Aviv modified the neural network to generate people's faces StyleGAN2 and released open-source photo editing software. The decision was called HyperStyle.

HyperStyle is designed to change the appearance and age of people captured on pictures, as well as the solution styles different images thanks to special filters, for example, as in the popular mobile photo editing application Prisma.

Released open source software HyperStyle to change the appearance and age of people in the photo

Open source software is distributed under the MIT license, which means that the solution can use media resources to create illustrations or reliable copies of copyrighted images. According to the developers of the HyperStyle, the purpose of the presented software is to demonstrate to users what benefits the neural networks represent. Moreover, this solution can become the basis for creating new mobile applications designed for high-quality artistic processing of images using neural networks.

The application is HyperStyle available for testing on a Linux computer

The developers note that you can get acquainted with the HyperStyle on Github, but to set specific settings in the program you will need knowledge of the Python language. Users can edit images on a Linux computer in Jupiter Notebook or Google Collab, as well as other services for programming in the cloud.

So far, HyperStyle algorithms do not always correctly recognize the faces of people in images, even if the pictures were pre-processed in a graphic editor. Distortions after processing can appear if such foreign objects as hats, glasses, microphones, smartphones, hands are present in the photos.[1]
