2018: Adding of the fingerprint scanner
On December 17, 2018 the Hyundai company provided the system of access to the car and controls of its electronics by means of fingerprints. The first machines equipped with such technology will appear in the market in 2019.
By means of touch of a finger to dactyloscopic to the sensor which is built in the door handle, drivers will be able to put and remove the central castle of vehicles from blocking and also to start the engine (one more sensor will be integrated with the ignition button). At the time of touch the block quickly verifies fingerprints with previously registered biometric data.
The technology will allow to change settings of mirrors, provision of chairs and a steering column and also other elements — it is convenient if several people who set own settings use the car. Further the producer promises to add and such settings as temperature, humidity and provision of a steering column.
Hyundai notes that technologies of reading of fingerprints exist for a long time, however in cars their use was postponed because of a number of unresolved security concerns and reliability of sensors, and the company managed to solve these problems. The South Korean auto giant claims that the probability of wrong user identification is 1 to 50 thousand. In terms of security the new technology is five times more effective, than usual keys with a radio tag, specifies Hyundai.
It is noted that the system of fingerprints was finished that it could resist to severe weather conditions, such as the scorching sun or a frost that in any conditions worked perfectly.
For the first time the system of access on a fingerprint of Huyndai will be applied in upgraded version of the car of the Santafa Fe crossover in the Chinese market. In case of positive reviews of clients into the account of this technology it will appear also in other countries.[1]
