The Evans Data company published in May, 2011 survey results about tools of development, carried out among more than 1200 programmers around the world. Respondents gave the highest mark to IBM Rational, and took the second and third place according to the environment of Microsoft Visual Studio and Zend Studio.
Rational received the highest overall rating and a victory in six categories: modeling of applications, requirements management, quality of technical support, support of remote development, frameworks and multilingual capability. At the Visual Studio the highest marks on integration into databases, support of visual design and declarative programming and also on the value and the qualitative structure of community of users. Zend whose main specialization - web-design, won category of appropriate means of development and also on availability of third-party tools.
Among other products mentioned in poll - Oracle JDeveloper, JBoss, Eclipse, Genuitec MyEclipse, Adobe Flash Builder and Embarcadero Delphi. According to in Evans, poll it was not financed by suppliers of development environments.
