IBM System x3550 M3

Product
The name of the base system (platform): IBM System X
Developers: IBM
Technology: Server platforms

Content

The IBM System x3550 M3 server is created on the basis of Intel Xeon processors. Has twice bigger performance in comparison with the previous generations and flexible, energy saving construction into which low-voltage components are integrated, x3550 M3 allows to support exacting workloads at lower cost per watt.

Management and service

The x3550 M3 server differs in flexible, scalable construction and provides an easy way of upgrade from four to eight hard drives. Extensive management tools systems, such as advanced diagnostic aids and possibility of the centralized control of resources, facilitate deployment, integration, service and management.

Characteristics

  • Performance optimized in terms of energy consumption thanks to high-speed performance of new Intel processors, higher power and storage capacity
  • The innovation, energy saving construction with a form factor 1U helps to reduce operating costs
  • Construction with effective energy consumption thanks to the modules Unregistered Dual Inline Memory Module (UDIMM), work with power of 40 W and Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) BIOS technology
  • The improved service thanks to scalable flexible design which provides ease of deployment, integration, service and management
  • Simplification of layer management of risk thanks to failsafe architecture and the virtualized environments
