IBM zEnterprise 196

In terms of performance, zEnterprise System is the most powerful system of IBM for all history. The basic server of the zEnterprise System family under the name zEnterprise 196 contains 96 fastest, most powerful microprocessors in the world functioning at a frequency of 5.2 GHz and capable to accomplishment more than 50 billion operations per second.

The new z196 mainframe relies on the safety features of the IBM System z platform, best in the industry. The IBM System z servers are the only category of the commercial systems which received a class of security of Evaluation Assurance Level 5.

For the purpose of further cost reduction and performance improvement 196 about 80 specialized processors, including zAAP (System z Application Assist Processor) for integration of workloads of Java into basic business applications, zIIP (System z Integrated Information Processor) for release of computing resources / reductions of IT expenses and IFL (Integrated Facility for Linux) for optimization of the workloads of Linux executed on the mainframe can be included in system configuration.
