IBS has developed a solution for scheduling continuous production.

The IBS Planeta.UPS solution includes an APS module designed to automatically build an optimal production schedule at enterprises with a production type. The company announced this on May 22, 2025.

IBS began developing its own APS solution in response to the steadily growing demand for such products from the business.

Planeta.UPS (APS module) allows you to automatically calculate the optimal production schedule with details up to technological operations and equipment instances, based on user-specified target volumes of finished products and taking into account technological and resource limitations.

The main criterion for the optimality of the schedule was the maximization of product output for a specific period, including by reducing the number of overhauls during the transition from product to product. With the APS solution, you can increase the OEE by 3-10%, and the OTIF by 5-15%. The growth of margins for the company's business may be 1-3%.

Planeta.UPS solution is implemented on the basis of the Planeta platform. With wide low-code capabilities and has a built-in production model designer. With its help, users can independently, without involving developers, change the parameters necessary for planning. For example, manufacturing technology, rules for performing overhauls, a set of constraints, or optimization criteria.

Built-in integration tools and interface settings allow you to use the APS solution as a separate system or as a service within an ERP, MES or IBP system. This approach is especially convenient for enterprises with an initial level of automation. Over time, as digital data on production, logistics and sales accumulate, Planeta.UPS can become a digital twin for the entire supply chain.

The Planeta.UPS solution (APS module) was created from the very beginning on the basis of a deep study of the needs of those who will work directly with it - planners and production managers. In addition, for the first time in such a solution, it is possible to flexibly adjust the parameters of the production model by the users themselves. The optimization planning algorithms proposed by IBS fully take into account the peculiarities of continuous production, and the speed of calculating one scenario for most real tasks does not exceed ten minutes.

Planeta.UPS was developed using open source software and meets the criteria of technological independence. The solution can be used in the production of beverages, automotive and technical oils, building materials, in large-tonnage and household chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetic industry and other in-line industries.
