At the end of October 2024, the free online service IC-Light V2 was launched, with which you can quickly replace the background with photos. In addition, this tool allows you to control the lighting in images.

The service runs on the Hugging Face platform using an artificial intelligence-based Flux AI image generator. To work with the system, you do not need to register, provide an email address or phone number.

To convert a snapshot, you need to do a few simple things. First, you need to upload the original photo - for example, a portrait. Next, you should write a text query using keywords like "sunset over the sea," "neon light of the city," "warm atmosphere of the house" or "moonlight through curtains." Then you need to select the light source - left, right, bottom or top. After that, you can send a command to process Run.

The service offers a wide range of ready-made phrases for creating a text query: you can generate the necessary instructions entirely from the available options. Sliders are provided to adjust the size of the image horizontally and vertically. On average, the photo is processed for 45 seconds, and the entire process of replacing the background, taking into account the loading of the original and choosing options, takes about two minutes. Overall, the new AI tool shows impressive results. But sometimes the desired effect is not achieved the first time: in this case, you need to change the request by adding clarifying phrases or removing unnecessary ones.
