2020: Announcement of Irobot Home Genius Intelligence - AI platforms for improvement of functionality of robots vacuum cleaners
At the end of August, 2020 the Irobot company submitted the intellectual platform under the name Irobot Home Genius Intelligence which is designed to change a method of interaction of clients with robots vacuum cleaners and can become an integration point for the smart house.
The Genius Home Intelligence platform provides coordination and interaction of robots and also considers preferences of the user and makes the schedule through the Irobot Home application. Thanks to the platform the robot will know what zones in the house should be avoided, changed cleaning depending on a season and also to change the schedule depending on instructions of the user. For example, the owner can configure iRobot so that he cleaned up under a kitchen table in certain time.
Developers note that COVID-19 pandemic became an impulse for development - they had to think of cooperation of clients and robots because other choice was not. People it is more, than ever, spend at home therefore they need more careful coordination of cleaning. Meanwhile time for cleaning is reduced because clients almost do not go outside.
The company plans that updating of the platform will happen in accelerated, new features will be added each three months. iRobot also implements ability to integrate for the smart house that the robot vacuum cleaner knew that he should vacuum and wash up a floor when the door of a garage opens and there leaves the owner's machine. At the same time integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant provides more natural dialog with iRobot. Instead of spending time for coincidence tuning of the robot vacuum cleaner, the user can give the Amazon Alexa command and plan cleaning using a voice communication through Alexa Conversations.[1]
