Content

Infinera DTN automates delivery of services for services from 155 Mbps to 100 Gbps, optimizing network in each node, using means of integrated granular switching (ODU1) and redistribution with a performance of 2.5 Gbps. Besides, the network and services are protected by security protections of an operator class, including complete digital monitoring of performance, the integrated digital protection of services and the complex ensuring services caused by one click. Infinera goes one step ahead in the course of increase in efficiency of services, using the technology called by Bandwidth Virtualization which guarantees that any service in any node can use any bandwidth on demand. Also DTN functions together with the linear Infinera Line System (ILS) system which supports up to 160 optical links in Sdiapazona on one optical fiber, providing the transmission rate of 6.4 Tbit / with with channels 40G or 400 of Gbps (40 channels, on 10 Gbps everyone) in half-rack form factor.

DTN is available in two options of a configuration with 19dyuymovym to the MTC chassis and 23dyuymovym to the DTC chassis. Also the solution supports a possibility of a configuration from several chassis in several racks for creation of the multifiber direction, the multiterabit transport system managed as one network element.

Use by the Infinera DTN platform of the connected auxiliary communication modules allows to organize a dense digital medium of input-output for a large number of services. The DTC chassis approaches form factor racks 23 inches and ETSI.

Photon integrated circuits

The switching Inifnera DTN WDM system is based on technology of photon integrated circuits (I‑PIC) from Infinera and offers opportunities of complex digital access to the optical level of network that significantly simplifies architecture and as much as possible increases its flexibility. Thanks to PIC DTN technology gives an opportunity of fast scaling of any trunk of network, delivery of bigger number of services to a wide range of users and simplification of network management, at the same time reducing operating costs. The PIC technology considerably reduces complexity and cost of process of converting optics-electronic engineer-optician (O‑E‑O) and allows operators to unroll high-scalable transport services quicker, than it is possible with the normal DWDM or ROADM systems. DTN also provides means of complete integration into the Infinera ATN Metro edge Platform platform, forming the highly effective complete solution for optical transport networks used from border of city network to trunk level.

Speed, simplicity and profitability

The Infinera DTN system uses the connected line cards on 100 Gbps called by Digital Line Modules (DLM) which are capable to provide the fast automated connection of opportunities of multiplexing longwise of a wave of the increased density (DWDM), once with a speed of 100 Gbps.

The module DLM offers opportunities of complete synchronization, reorganization, recovery and recoding for each optic wavelength. Also it has the integrated means of switching and redistribution at smaller wavelength for the free configured input-output and priority sending traffic through a node. DLM also isolates all analog noises from adjacent ranges to avoid blocking of waves and to simplify planning of a network architecture. In a complex these opportunities allow to achieve the maximum flexibility and controllability of network in comparison with other DWDM-or ROADM systems.

Waves of DWDM from each module DLM are multiplexed on a parallel fiber optic cable by means of the module Band Multiplexing Module (BMM). The module BMM optically multiplexes up to 160 optical links from the modules DLM together with Optical Supervisory Channel. Thanks to it all process of optical multiplexing is performed on one card that increases density of channels in comparison with normal systems.

Completely configured process of input-output of Infinera DTN supports the office connected client payments called by Tributary Adapter Modules (TAM) which sou - stride separately from parallel optical DWDM channels, giving the combined flexible opportunities of input-output for client interfaces in any point computing Wednesdays. Original client interfaces contain in a digital cover before a system redistributes or switches them.

DLM supports TAM with client service interfaces, including SONET, SDH, OTN, Ethernet, video services and SAN services, providing complete transparency on performance levels from 155 Mbps to 100 Gbps. The modules TAM have programmable optical interfaces, at this one TAM supports a set of services, without needing special reservation of services.

DTN also has the built-in multiplexer "Digital ROADM" — the configured optical add drop multiplexer which uses the electronic switching matrix, but not optical components for configuring. As this multiplexer has digital opportunities, the DTN system can offer the most transparent services with complete monitoring of capacity of electronics, allowing to avoid purchase of expensive components or a large number of connection cables. Moreover, having the digital multiplexer ROADM with opportunities of granular management of bandwidth with a performance of 2.5 Gbps, DTN provides flexible management by services in the range from supershort to super long waves. Contrary to normal ROADM multiplexers or "completely optical" to WSS systems, DTN abolishes need of service of channels of 1 Gbps or 2.5 Gbps by means of the multiplexing transponders or the Multiservice Provisioning Platforms platforms (MPPP). Its digital architecture also does not need repeaters for broadcast of frequencies.

2014: Module of packet switching of PXM

On September 22, 2014 the Infinera company announced expansion of opportunities of the DTN-X platform release of the new module of packet switching of PXM providing high efficiency of architecture of a packet optical transport network.

PXM will help operators to reduce number of necessary ports of the router which are very expensive, but are necessary for providing Carrier Ethernet and MPLS services.

Availability

The module PXM will be available in the first quarter 2015.
