On February 13, 2014 Intel provided Intel Data Platform – the program set on the basis of an open source code designed to help modern business to get the maximum profit on investments into infrastructures of "Big Data".

Description

New array of instrumentation of Intel Data Platform: Analytics Toolkit (Intel Data Platform AT) creates a full-fledged graph-analytic environment that the companies could obtain useful practical information on the basis of data analysis.

Intel Data Platform offers the open environment for import, management and the analysis of "Big Data". The new software product is created on the basis of a packet of Intel Distribution for Apache Hadoop, shows the increased reliability of work and has protection and support of the corporate level. In the platform a number of new opportunities of data processing, including processing of stream data, the interactive and cyclic analysis and processing of graphs is also implemented. This functionality gives to the companies new opportunities for extraction of useful information from working data which were unavailable when using only to Apache Hadoop technology earlier.

Using completely integrated environments for stream data processing in real time the companies, including retailers, can use Intel Data Platform for the operational analysis of media environments, these sensors, purchases and material stocks with the purpose to estimate the impact of advertizing campaigns with participation of celebrities on demand for new products. Using interactive and cyclic environments for applications of "Big Data", many industries, including telecommunication, will be able to analyze the large volume of information adapted according to customer needs to offer the personalized recommendations for new products and services.

Availability and versions

Availability of the platform is defined by developers on the second quarter 2014. Innovation will be offered in two versions, Enterprise Edition and Premium Edition, each of which will have different levels of support.

The version of the Enterprise Edition will offer all functionality of the platform in the form of the free software product. This version will be suitable for customers who can independently implement a new solution. The version of Premium Edition will be available on the basis of a paid annual subscription and will include additional improvements, including the improved automation functions, pro-active correction of violations of a system of protection, permanent updating of the available functionality and telephone technical support.

Intel Data Platform AT is developed for reduction of complexity, labor costs and cost of extraction of useful information.

The tool kit creates a basis for typical algorithms, including selection of network clusters and clusters based on graphs which IT specialists can adapt and use for own purposes. Simple algorithms in implementation can widely be used in the different industries, including the financial sector, health care and retail. The tool kit also includes the improved development environment for consolidation of graph-analytic and classical solutions for computer-based training for the purpose of simplification of work of programmers.
