2024: Product Announcement
On November 27, 2024, the InterOs operating system developed by Sberbank specialists was included in the register of domestic software. This platform is designed for ATMs.
As reported in the product card, InterOs is a specialized Linux-based Debian operating system for self-service devices running on computers with x86/x64 processor architecture. The main class of software for InterOs is "built-in system programs - operating systems." Additional classes include "monitoring and management tools," as well as "software for solving industry problems in the field of financial activities and the banking sector."
InterOs can perform standard operating system functions. At the same time, the platform has a much smaller distribution or installation image due to the inclusion of only those components that are required when operating terminal devices. The OS provides a functionally closed environment for the safe operation of control software and drivers of specialized peripherals. The settings used in InterOs are set in accordance with cybersecurity standards adopted in Sberbank. Among the key characteristics of InterOs are:
- Multitasking;
- Efficient allocation of computer system resources between processes;
- Delineation of access of various processes to resources;
- Organization of reliable calculations;
- Interaction between processes - data exchange and mutual synchronization;
- Protection of the system, as well as user data and programs from malicious or undesirable actions;
- Availability of a functionally closed working environment - through settings made in accordance with cybersecurity requirements in the banking sector;
- Multi-user mode of operation and delimitation of access rights.[1]
