2019: Start of pilot network LoRaWAN in Yekaterinburg

On August 13, 2019 the Intersvyaz company announced installation of the base station of LoRaWAN in Yekaterinburg. The wireless network is unrolled especially for work as one of management companies of the city in which fund there are hundreds of all-house metering devices. Their remote poll will help not only to collect quickly necessary data, but also in time to react to emergency situations. In the test mode 3 all-house heat meters are connected to the station, all indications from them are transferred to the certified digital platform "Intersvyaz. Smart city".

Wireless poll of all-house counters is equally useful to both management company, and residents. A system allows to transfer each hour indications and on their basis to keep account of technical parameters and also to create an alarm list. All charges are made correctly therefore inhabitants do not overpay, and the management company is always aware of non-staff situations and in time reacts to them.

Yekaterinburg became the 17th city in which the base station of LoRa from Intersvyaz is set. In plans of the company a successful completion of the pilot, construction of several additional stations and also large-scale connection to them of other metering devices.

Poll of all-house counters using LoRaWAN technology is one of the most reliable, effective and available methods of data transmission. Representatives of management companies do not need to rewrite indications manually any more, to think of software or a communication channel to the device. The Intersvyaz developed a product which solves all these problems at once. All system is constructed taking into account needs of subscribers and edited on their responses, emphasizes Oleg Plotnikov, the director of the center of the industrial Internet of Intersvyaz company

The project can be scaled and be applied everywhere where metering devices, for example, in electro-and water supply are used. For successful implementation of the advanced solutions the company actively is engaged in construction of network based on wireless LoRaWAN technologies. For August, 2019 the covering of several tens base stations of LoRa from Intersvyaz covers 100% of the territory of Chelyabinsk, also the network works in 16 cities of the Ural Federal District, including Yekaterinburg.
