Zagorsky Optical-mechanical Plant (ZOMP) has developed an ophthalmic analyzer for early diagnosis of glaucoma. About this, the press service of Rostec (this state corporation includes the Schwabe holding, which, in turn, owns ZOMZ) at the end of March 2023.

Full name of the device - ophthalmic analyzer of the individual norm of intraocular pressure. The development successfully passed technical tests and toxicological studies at the All-Russian Research and Testing Institute of Medical Technology (FGBU VNIIIMT) and clinical trials at the Krasnov Research Institute of Eye Diseases, according to the results of which the device was registered as a medical technique at Roszdravnadzor.

Ophthalmic analyzer for early diagnosis of glaucoma

The method proposed by ophthalmologists and implemented by Schwabe specialists is based on the gradation of the degree of excess of tolerant intraocular pressure and the corresponding probability of detecting glaucoma. Measurements using the Schwabe analyzer are made quickly, safely and painlessly for the patient.

All received information is processed by a measuring and computing system built into the device, and the measurement results can be transmitted to the computer of an ophthalmologist for entering data into the patient's electronic record. Due to the accuracy and efficiency of the method, a specialized medical specialist can assess the likelihood of glaucoma within just a few minutes - from low (less than 15%) to high (from 25% and above).

As the executive director of Rostec Oleg Yevtushenko noted, at the initial stage of glaucoma, the disease is usually asymptomatic, and this greatly complicates diagnostics, and the device developed by ZOMZ specialists helps to solve this problem. During the tests, the analyzer showed high measurement accuracy and efficiency of processing functional indicators of the patient's eye, he added.
