JVC Security Products provided in the spring of 2015 the 17-inch GD-172 monitors. Innovation use a LCD matrix with permission of SXGA (1280х1024 px.) and response time no more than 5 ms, display up to 16.7 million color shades, have contrast 1000:1 both brightness of 250 cd/m2 and viewing angles 170/160 °. For work with video sources this monitor of video surveillance is supplied with interfaces DVI-D, PC and AV, and for a sound playback — loudspeakers on 0.5 W everyone. Besides, GD-172 has a thin frame around the screen and can work as a part of videowalls.

The monitor is supplied with interface DVI-D and can accept video from digital video sources. For example, through a video input of DVI-D it is possible to connect the 24-channel digital JVC CI770A-X4 video recorder of the Super LoLux HD series which uses the Intel processor Core i5 and writes on the internal 4-terabyte hard drive video flows in H.264/MPEG-4/M-JPEG with the resolution up to 2 megapixels at 25 fps and bitrate up to 250 Mbps to GD-172. As the monitor of video surveillance of JVC does not perform analog digital conversion of the video signal (as at VGA connection) arriving via interface DVI-D, quality of the displayed video from IP cameras of video surveillance does not worsen.

The high-quality LCD display with an antiglare covering and viewing angles 170 °/160 ° in horizontal direction and verticals, respectively, allows the operator/manager to watch video practically from any points of the premises. Through GD-172 menu fast setup of its image under the current working conditions is performed. For example, the operator of a video surveillance system can regulate brightness and contrast of the picture, to select optimal permission of viewing, etc.

JVC GD-172 has the body 60 mm thick and a thin frame of the display, and can be applied not only to video surveillance, but also as an information display. In particular, the monitor of video surveillance can perform information transfer of office or advertizing character in shops, in transport waiting rooms, etc. It should be noted that despite the lack of the built-in divider of a signal, this monitor can work as a part of videowalls in that case when it is not required to reproduce one integral image on a set of devices.

The strong metal body of innovation conforms to all standards of security systems. This monitor can be placed on a table and other horizontal surfaces using a support which is included in the package.
