2022: Flying car sales begin

In June 2022, the Swedish company Jetson announced the sale of almost 100 airmobiles. Buyers will receive their vehicles by the end of 2022, and the second batch of 100 vehicles is expected to arrive at buyers in 2023. The company received more than 3 thousand pre-orders.

The single-seat Jetson One airmobile is designed as simple as possible: a cabin and eight propellers, a joystick, a pair of pedals. The battery will last for 20 minutes of fast flight at speeds up to 100 km/h. This is quite enough to get from home to work, which was demonstrated by the head of the company Tomas Patan in a video taken from several cameras.

The weight of the Jetson One is only 86 kg, and the pilot's weight should not exceed 95 kg, i.e. the maximum weight of a flying car is 181 kg. The airmobile is equipped with a lithium-ion battery capable of charging very quickly. When using a 220W outlet, it will take only one hour to charge.

The first time I flew it, I felt amazing: the Jetson is completely vibration-free, it doesn't look like a helicopter or a plane at all. The sensations are completely new and euphoric, "said Jetson co-founder and president Peter Ternstrom.

Potential buyers will need an amount to buy $92,000. Moreover, in order to queue for delivery, you need to make an advance in the amount of $22 thousand. The rest of the money will need to be paid before getting Jetson One. Despite such an impressive price tag, the company focused on the production of the Jetson ONE in order to fulfill the company's goal and make every driver a pilot.

On-board LiDAR sensors on the Jetson One airmobile guarantee the avoidance of obstacles, according to the developers, and the triple backup on-board computer and the ability of the device to continue flying when the engine is lost increase the simplicity and safety of control.^[1]
