2017: Jinn-Client Capabilities and Architecture

Opportunities

Using the Jinn-Client PAC will allow you to view and create an electronic signature of documents in a trusted environment that does not allow third-party software to substitute information in the displayed document or the entire document.

  • Generate an electronic signature of documents in a trusted environment
  • Configure the required level of security
  • Visualize an electronic document in a trusted environment
  • Generate electronic signature keys and generate certificate creation requests
  • Generating electronic signature of documents in the operating system
  • A wide range of supported media

Architecture

One of the main differences between Jinn-Client and other electronic signature tools is the ability to use trusted display of information before signing. Trusted mapping allows the user to be sure that during the signing process, any third-party software has not changed the information in the document. Jinn-Client uses a trusted environment for trusted mapping. A trusted environment requires a number of computer resources for security - a dedicated processor core and part of the memory. In the case where the computer does not have a multi-core processor, the signing process can take place with visualization in the application.

For trusted visualization, Jinn-Client uses a graphics adapter and user monitor. It takes control of the graphics adapter and keyboard, switches the graphics adapter to text mode and displays the document to be signed to the user. The document is signed in a trusted environment and sent to the client operating system.

For additional protection, Jinn-Client stops the processors running the client operating system during trusted document visualization.

2014: Jinn-Client Release

On June 19, 2014, Security Code announced the release of Jinn, a trusted document visualization and signature solution. Jinn was developed by the Security Code company, certified by the FSB of Russia according to the requirements for encryption (cryptographic) means and electronic signature means for the KS 2 class.

The product consists of server and client parts, provides visualization and qualified electronic signature of documents in a trusted environment in accordance with the requirements of GOST R 34.11-94/2012, GOST R 34.11-2001/2012 standards. These capabilities help meet the requirements of No. 63-FZ "On Electronic Signature" by applying the Jinn solution in electronic document management systems, remote banking services, etc.

The technology helps to deploy a trusted environment on the user's computer to visualize the document before signing it and signing it in a secure, isolated environment. User keys are also stored in a trusted environment and do not leave it when the document is signed. Thus, an attacker cannot falsify a document or replace its details during the process of displaying and signing it.

The specialized server included in the Jinn solution integrates the functions of automatic verification and formation of electronic signatures into the server components of application systems, significantly reducing the load on application servers that process a large number of electronic documents.

Jinn's suite of products, integrated with the corporate electronic document management system, will help ensure the legal significance of documents and make the process of using electronic signatures convenient and safe for the user.
