The "End-to-end Medical Information Systems" company (K-MIS) announces release of the new software product focused on mass implementations and application in the public medical institutions within the project of upgrade – the KIIS Free.

The KIIS Free was announced by the company at the "Information Technologies in Medicine" exhibition which took place on October 14-15, 2010 in Moscow. After the announcement of this product the first responses were received from potential customers and partners of the company who allowed to localize functional and technological capabilities of future product and to specify plans for its development and preparation for release.

The KIIS Free is a new solution in a product line of the developer. It is focused on the rapid finished implementation of the electronic medical record and a subsystem of statistics in the state clinics and hospitals. At the same time the KIIS Free includes the complete electronic document management of health facilities which is precisely conforming to requirements of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation to the medical information systems applied during creation of a regional segment of health care.

• The office suite of applications of IBM Lotus Symphony (as a part of IBM Lotus Notes), including support of work with office documents Microsoft Office
• Documentation on installation and administration and also set of the user instructions.

It should be noted especially that to start automation of health facilities no additional costs on the software of MIS are required: everything that is necessary for work, is already included in the package by the KIIS Free.

The KIIS Free profoundly supports the open source (OS). In particular, all server part of a system can work running Linux OS. Moreover, the powerful office suite of IBM Lotus Symphony including the word-processor, the editor of tables and the means for creation of the presentations supporting a format of storage of the Microsoft Office and ODF files is included in the package of a software platform.

Thus, at acquisition of the KIIS Free customers and partners are exempted from need in addition to purchase paid general-system software, necessary for work of the system. The possibility of transition to the senior versions of an end-to-end medical information system without need to reinstall or recustomize software is provided.
