2024: Product Announcement
In October 2024, the Kalashnikov concern announced the start of testing new models of electric combat motorcycles (BME) in the border regions of Russia. These vehicles are designed specifically for high complexity tasks and can be used in the area of a special military operation.
According to the Kalashnikov concern, the key feature of the new BMUs is their low noise level during engine operation and the absence of thermal radiation, which makes them almost invisible to enemy thermal imagers. These characteristics significantly increase the efficiency of motorcycles in reconnaissance and search operations.
The BME design is characterized by increased strength, improved cooling system and ergonomic design. Thanks to these features, motorcycles have high maneuverability and are able to successfully move over rough terrain, which is critical for performing special tasks in a combat zone.
BME testing is carried out in small batches, in accordance with the goals and objectives to be met by each specific model. The customer's representatives take part in the tests, which allows you to quickly take into account the wishes of end users and make the necessary technical improvements.
The development and implementation of electric motorcycles for military use is part of a general trend towards electrification of army transport. The use of electric motors allows not only to reduce the noise and thermal visibility of the equipment, but also to significantly reduce the cost of its operation.
Representatives of the concern note that the new BMEs can become an effective tool for conducting raid operations, especially in conditions requiring stealth and maneuverability. It is expected that based on the results of testing, a decision will be made on the large-scale production and supply of these motorcycles to the troops.
The development of BME is a continuation of the work of the Kalashnikov concern in the field of creating innovative military equipment. Previously, the company had already presented a civilian version of the Izh-Pulsar electric motorcycle, which served as the basis for the creation of a military modification.[1]
