On November 1, 2025, in Severodvinsk, at the shipbuilding enterprise of Production Association JSC, a Sevmash ceremony was held to withdraw the Khabarovsk nuclear submarine from boathouse. The vessel was created to ensure the security of maritime borders Russia and protect its national interests in different areas of the oceans.

The Khabarovsk submarine missile cruiser was designed by the Rubin Central Design Bureau of Marine Technology. The submarine is designed to solve the tasks of the Navy using modern naval weapons, including robotic means for various purposes.

According to RIA Novosti, referring to the statements of the former chief of staff of the Russian Navy, Admiral Viktor Kravchenko, the Khabarovsk submarine was specially designed and built for the Poseidon nuclear underwater complex. On November 4, 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin presented state awards to the developers of the Poseidon unmanned vehicle. According to the head of state, the new principles and algorithms of Poseidon will have a significant effect in terms of improving unmanned systems.

The creators of Poseidon also had to solve specific tasks related to the management of the underwater complex. I mean the advanced materials, components and components necessary for this product, which provided high speed and a large depth of immersion - up to a thousand meters.
