On August 5, 2021, the system of recording working hours and monitoring employees for Kickidler PCs was included in the Unified Register of Russian Programs. The software was classified as a "Monitoring and Management Tool." An application for inclusion in the register was submitted on June 21, 2021.

Investigate corporate data theft and information breaches using the Kickidler Employee Control System

Theft of customer data from CRM with subsequent transfer to competitors is, unfortunately, commonplace. Each such incident can cause serious material losses to the company, and several - lead to bankruptcy.

IT security experts usually suggest fighting theft with DLP (Data Leak Prevention) systems. Unfortunately, this approach does not work in the vast majority of cases. Let's figure out why.

  • First, DLP is expensive and complex software. To install in your company, you will need to buy licenses, additional servers and hire a team of implementation specialists. And if your company is not Gazprom or Rosneft, then the drug may turn out to be worse than diseases and you will break up at the stage of implementation.
  • Second, DLP systems control access to certain data. Well, if all the important information you have is stored in a Word or Excel file, then DLP will track access to it. But we need to protect the data in CRM and the maximum we can do is set data templates, such as phones. If it matches, you can send a notification. And if not, then the attacker will go unpunished.
  • Thirdly, the transfer of information to competitors consists of several stages. You need to export data from CRM, pack it into an archive with a password and send it using email or messenger. DLP can only fix the first stage, but it is not a crime in itself. And what happened next is a secret for DLP, and the head of the company can only make guesses.

Therefore, I want to offer another way to identify unscrupulous managers in the company, cheaper and more efficient. It is implemented using the Kickidler employee control system.

Kickidler has two important features that will help us save the company's money. Firstly, this is a recording of all the actions of employees on video. Moreover, a special compression algorithm is used, so that video of one working day of one person takes no more than 1GB. Therefore, using a low-cost 2TB hard drive, you can store work records of all midsize employees in a week.

The second important functionality is a histogram of violations. It displays each potentially dangerous employee activity, such as watching a video or working on a job search site. Moreover, the greater the intensity of actions, the thicker the string on the histogram will be.

It is enough to highlight the event of interest directly on the histogram and a video with recording of the employee's actions for this period will open for viewing. You can also watch video of a person's work only with a specific application (for example, CRM) during the working day

According to developers, the product is of interest to three user groups:

  • owners of enterprises and managers of different levels. Kickidler uses an advanced statistics collection system and a convenient activity monitor that visualizes statistics and at first glance allows you to understand what employees are doing during working hours. The manager himself can choose which of the actions of employees behind computers are not targeted and add them to the corresponding list.
  • Employees responsible for IT and economic security. Kickidler has the functionality of recording video from the user's screen. Moreover, the video is not written in a solid file, but in a data stream that is "deployed" using the original codec. Through such technology, the "safety" will definitely have evidence of internal sabotage or attempts to break into the outside. This evidence may well serve as a reason for investigating computer incidents.
  • support specialists, or helpdesk. The "victim" will always be able to find out the approximate time of the incident, get video from the system and restore user actions in order to "unscrew" them with IT tools.
