LS-02-Zenit (ophthalmologic device)

2020: Output to the market

At the end of January, 2020 Rostec announced release on the market the laser device for removal of pathologies in eyes. It is about the ophthalmologic device under name LS-02 - Zenit which is intended for microsurgeries on front and back departments of an eye. It is developed by the Krasnogorsk plant of S.A. Zverev of Schwabe holding (enters into Rostec).

In the device the solid-state YAG laser with a short impulse of high power which allows to delete pathological educations with a noninvasive method found application. It is supposed that the complex will be applied to treatment of a cataract and glaucoma and also at cysts of an iris of the eye and other interventions at sight pathologies.

According to developers, innovation is characterized by the pin point accuracy of work, compact dimensions and small weight, and for convenience of surgeons the lighting system and optics providing a high image quality is provided.

As the chief executive of Rostec Oleg Yevtushenko reported, LS-02 - Zenit  is made of domestic components, and the cost of the device will be 1.2 million rubles that approximately twice the cheapest way Japanese analog.^[1]

The first the ophthalmologic complex was tested by doctors of the Tambov branch of the National medical research center "Eye Microsurgery of the Academician S.N. Fedorov". Using a complex more than 50 surgeries are performed. Besides, by the end of January, 2020 the device is tested by specialists of the Krasnogorsk city hospital No. 1.

As it appears from the register of Roszdravnadzor, LS-02 - Zenit was registered in May, 2017, however because of difficulties with mass production the output to the market of a medical product dragged on.

The delay is connected with preparation of serial production and preliminary work with customers. Changes also concerned design regarding a laser equipment — explained Vademecum in state corporation.
