2021: Equipping the yacht with an Airbus H125 helicopter
On March 17, 2021, it became known that Oleg Tinkov bought a new Airbus H125 helicopter for his icebreaker yacht La Datcha. There were two helicopters on the ship.
According to Forbes, citing its informants in the aviation market, the purchase of the Airbus H125 in the VIP configuration could cost from $2.5 million to $5 million. One of the interlocutors of the publication said that the acquisition of the helicopter took place at the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021. According to the source of the magazine, Tinkov planned to purchase an Airbus H135, but he did not fit in the hangar.
The representative of Oleg Tinkov did not comment on this information to the magazine, but said that La Datcha is equipped with two helicopters. Forbes also found two Airbus H125 helicopters in the yacht charter documents. One of them was released in 2013.
The H125 is a light single-engine helicopter equipped with a powerful engine with a FADEC digital control system. It is adapted to flights in extreme conditions, including flights in highlands and hot climates. In 2005, the helicopter set a world record by taking off and landing on Everest at 8850 meters.
BizavNews project manager Dmitry Petrochenko told Forbes that in the passenger version, the H125 is designed for comfortable transportation of up to 4-5 passengers and luggage, for which three compartments are provided. We are talking about the fact that a helicopter can land and take off at different sites, not necessarily at the airport, which distinguishes the helicopter from a private jet.
The helicopter is a very practical mode of transport not only in terms of mobility, but also in terms of privacy, which is equally important for many public and wealthy people. By helicopter , you can get to the right point much faster - and do it incognito, and if you use it in tandem with a yacht, then the opportunities grow by an order of magnitude, "Petrochenko noted.[1] |

Two helipads and a bathhouse. What does the icebreaker yacht Tinkova look like
In early October 2020, a virtual tour of a private icebreaker yacht built for Russian billionaire Oleg Tinkov took place. Forbes journalist Bill Springer shared his observations and impressions of what he saw.
According to him, the ship has a fully equipped main helipad, a reserve deck for the second helicopter, necessary for movements in the most remote places, such as Antarctica, as well as a hangar under the deck, where both helicopters can be placed and stored safely.
Still on a yacht called La Datcha there is a large room for shoes and sports equipment for all occasions of life - for skiing, long walks to watch whales or penguins. According to the journalist, a well-equipped sauna and a hot tub, which is installed on the viewing platform - on the highest point of the yacht, deserve special attention.
Among other notable features that I can name are the premises for a large team that will manage an extensive collection of "toys": aircraft, motorboats and equipment - as well as provide research support in all charter voyages that will begin in the Mediterranean Sea and continue in the Indian Ocean in the winter, "the reporter wrote. |
During the excursion, it turned out that the yacht was preparing for an ambitious circumnavigation - from heli ski in Kamchatka and the Kuril Islands and diving off the coast of Papua New Guinea.
In September 2020, La Datcha passed the first tests at sea. The ship cost Tinkov €100 million, and it can be rented for €740 thousand a week. Another 30% (about €222 thousand) will have to be given as a deposit for additional expenses.
Oleg Tinkov, who is continuing treatment for leukemia by early October 2020, plans to spend about 20 weeks a year on the yacht, and wants to rent it the rest of the time.[2]
Start of the yacht
In early July 2020, the world's first private icebreaker yacht was released. It belongs to the founder of the Tinkoff financial group Oleg Tinkov.
The 77-meter ship La Datcha, commissioned by a Russian entrepreneur, was developed by Damen Yachting. The ice-class yacht is SeaExplorer able to spend up to 40 days on the high seas without returning to port due to improved fuel tanks and a garbage collection system, the publication notes. It has a bathyscape, two helicopter platforms and snowmobiles.
The yacht is designed for travel to remote parts of the world - from poles to tropical islands, according to the Damen Yachting website. It is designed for 24 crew members and 12 passengers.
The world is so big and our lives are so short that we have to explore as much as possible. And the project is SeaXplorer just perfect for this, "Tinkova quotes Yacht Harbour. |
The external design of the yacht was developed by Azure Yacht Design. To develop the interiors of La Datcha, Tinkov invited the Russian architect Vasily Syritz from St. Petersburg.
Oleg Tinkov planned to spend only about 20 weeks a year on a yacht. The rest of the time, the billionaire intends to lease the ship. It will become part of the La Datcha project: as part of it, Tinkov rents his houses in different parts of the world for a while, each of which is associated with his hobbies: mountain skiing (Courchevel and Val Thorans vo) France , bike rides (Forte dei Marmi in), Italy fishing (Volga,) Astrakhan and water sports (Cabo San). To Mexico Renting a yacht will cost €740 thousand per week plus a deposit for additional expenses of 30%.
According to Forbes, Tinkov spent more than 100 million euros on the construction of a ship capable of overcoming a large wave and ice 30-40 cm thick.[3]
