2024: Start of deliveries
Deliveries of the new Leshiy mobile complex, designed to protect cars from drone attacks, have begun in Russia. This became known in July 2024. The Roselectronics holding, part of the state corporation Rostec, has developed this system and has already begun supplying it to customers.
The Leshiy complex is designed to ensure the safety of military vehicles and service vehicles from unmanned aerial vehicles, including FPV drones. The device is placed on the roof of the car and creates a protective dome, forming interference with drone control channels. The range of the complex is at least 250 meters, while it effectively functions both in motion and in a stationary position.
The complex was developed and produced by the Polyus Military Central Design Bureau, also part of Roselectronics. During tests and inspections at the Research Test Institute of Electronic Warfare of the Air Force Academy named after N.E. Zhukovsky and Yu.A. Gagarin, the complex demonstrated high efficiency.
Anatoly Kuznetsov, General Director of the Polyus Military Central Design Bureau, noted that Leshiy can be used not only to protect vehicles, but also to ensure the safety of industrial facilities. Kuznetsov stressed that the complex is highly reliable and relatively low in cost compared to analogues. Production is completely localized at the facilities of the All-Russian Central Design Bureau "Polyus," which confirms the high level of domestic technologies in this area.
In addition, the state corporation noted that Polyus is the developer and supplier of another complex for countering drones - Groza, which is designed to protect personnel and military and civilian infrastructure.[1]
