2023: Platform Launch
At the end of May 2023, the Russian Orthodox Church launched the crowdfunding online platform "Help" (mirom.help). The project was implemented by the Synodal Department for Charity of the Russian Orthodox Church to help people in need and support church social initiatives.
The all-church online platform "Help" is another step in the development of social service, to attract people to good deeds, in fact, for which we exist, which we do. According to him, by the end of May 2023, with the help of the platform, fundraising began to repair the almshouse in Khabarovsk, where lonely elderly people will be cared for by sisters of mercy around the clock.
Vasily Rulinsky, press secretary of the Synodal Charity Department, told Kommersant that organizations directly related to the Russian Orthodox Church can leave their applications for fundraising on the platform. After checking the application, the collection appears on the platform, he said
Earlier, the Russian Orthodox Church launched an online service to raise funds for projects of Orthodox non-profit organizations (NPOs) aimed at helping sick children and adults, as well as those in need and dependent.
By the end of May 2023, more than 1000 different social projects are operating in the Russian Orthodox Church. Among them there are shelters for lonely old people, disabled people, pregnant women, mothers in crisis, the church today is the largest provider of charitable services, there are rehabilitation centers for people who are addicted, etc. In these centers, more than 10 thousand caring people work according to approximate estimates.[1]
