2025: Portal Presentation 2TMTP

The MBK Laboratory (MBK Lab) has developed an open postal protocol for 2TMTP. It is designed to replace outdated email standards and eliminate the main limitations of email: limits on the size of messages and attachments, delivery delays, low functionality and vulnerability to spam, phishing and DDoS attacks. The company announced this on April 10, 2025.

A mail protocol is a set of rules by which mail programs, applications servers , and exchange. data Postal solutions are still forced to use a set of disparate open standards, since each of them was historically created for its own narrow task. For example, IMAP - for receiving letters, - SMTP for sending, DAV - for calendars and contacts. All of them were developed decades ago and no longer meet the requirements for scalability, speed and security. This makes email technically obsolete and a limited tool.

The 2TMTP protocol solves the shortcomings of existing standards - not only open, but also closed proprietary ones. The protocol supports sending letters and files of any size, provides instant data transfer, displays delivery and read status, and allows you to recall messages.

Moreover, the 2TMTP allows you to manage the rules and profile of the user on the server side, implements effective synchronization of calendars and contacts, supports auto-configuration of the client and deletion of data. The protocol includes centralized mobile device management (MDM), improving corporate mail security. At the same time, the 2TMTP retains compatibility with classic standards and, if necessary, automatically switches to SMTP.

In terms of functionality, 2TMTP is close to the closed MAPI protocol from Microsoft (connects Outlook and Exchange Server), but exceeds its capabilities. Unlike MAPI, which is limited only to client-server communication, 2TMTP also supports full server-to-server communication. As a result, the 2TMTP does not have a limit on the size of the transmitted message, while Microsoft mail is limited to 20 MB, since it switches to standard SMTP to transfer data between servers.

2TMTP will be published and will be available for free use by other market players in the summer of 2025. Any developer or operator of the mail service will be able to integrate it both on the server and client side, as well as receive technical support from MBK Lab at no cost.

We strive not only to catch up, but also to surpass the world leaders in the field of postal solutions. In this regard, the creation of our own protocol is an inevitable step, since all existing standards did not meet our requirements for quality and functionality. We expect that 2TMTP will become an industry standard and invite developers and corporate clients to join the formation of a single postal ecosystem, "said Igor Kalmetov, General Director of MBK Lab.
