Optosense (Rusnano portfolio company) announced at the beginning of 2017 the beginning of serial deliveries of infrared sensors of hydrocarbons of new generation of MIPEX-04 which, among other things, will be used for ensuring individual safety of miners. Development Optosense will allow to prevent more effectively accidents that will save many human lives.

Energy consumption of the innovation sensors is 1000 times less than at the competing analogs, and it means that devices can work with their use without recharge more than 2 years, instead of several hours. Among buyers of MIPEX-04 there are leading world players of the market of industrial security such as Honeywell Analytics who already began sales of individual gas analyzers on their basis.

The new generation of sensors created Optosense is consumed by less than 100 microwatts of the electric power that offers huge prospects for development of the most up-to-date devices and solutions for detection and measurement of concentration of explosive gases, including creation from scratch of the new market of portable gas analyzers clips.

Characteristics of sensors became possible thanks to semiconductor polycrystalline nanodimensional layers at serial production of crucial elements of the sensor — LED radiation sources and photovoltaic receivers. Existence of the MIPEX-04 sensor allowed to achieve so outstanding indicators of operating time of the final device which is not requiring service for all life.
