2022: Announcement

On December 6, 2022, Moon Surgical announced the release of the Maestro robotic system for soft tissue operations. For the commercial implementation of the project, the manufacturer previously attracted investments.

The Maestro platform is a robotic surgical assistant that provides the surgeon with two additional hands, providing a higher level of safety and reliability. It is placed at the table opposite the surgeon, and the doctor can easily and clearly manage it. The platform works with any ready-made laparoscopic tool thanks to patented magnetic connection technology.

A small, adaptable system can integrate into existing clinical workflows. According to the developers, its capabilities increase the efficiency of the operating room and allow the use of alternative labor models. The company's management said Moon Surgical is finalizing its first commercial system in December 2022.

{{quote 'We are seeing tremendous interest from surgical clinics in the US and look forward to seeing surgeons and their staff start using Maestro for the benefit of their patients in this geography! The system will dramatically change standard treatments in soft tissue surgery for millions of patients each year, said laparoscopist and Moon Surgical co-founder Brice Gayet. }} In June 2022, Moon Surgical completed Series A to raise $31.3 million in funding. CEO Anne Osduit said the company is committed to making Maestro usable in any laparoscopy in any operating room. This could revolutionize minimally invasive surgery through collaborative and adaptive robotics.[1]
