2023: Obtaining an MHF certificate
Rosmorport registered the first unmanned ferries in Russia. The press service of the enterprise announced this on October 3, 2023.
The first in the Russian Federation certificates of marine autonomous and remotely controlled surface vessels (MANS) received ecoparomes "Marshal Rokossovsky" and "General Chernyakhovsky," carrying out transportation on the line "Seaport Ust-Luga - Seaport Kaliningrad." Documents issued by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping allow remote control of ships with the possibility of switching to manual control when moving at sea, as well as to manual control with decision support, including when passing narrowness and entering the port.
Work on the transfer of ferries to the mode of autonomous vessels has been carried out by FSUE Rosmorport together with Sitronics KT since 2022 as part of the federal project "Autonomous Navigation." The vessels are equipped with a-Navigation equipment, including an autonomous navigation system, an optical system for analyzing the environment and condition of the vessel, a movement and maneuvering control system, and a system for monitoring and monitoring the vessel's systems.
To ensure remote control of ships in St. Petersburg, the FSUE Rosmorport Remote Control Center (CDU) has been created, which provides the ability to monitor the surrounding navigation situation, control the main parameters of ferry traffic, as well as remote control of ships located on the high seas. The CCR is equipped with a remote control and is the workplace of the autonomous vessel operator.
According to Rosmorport, the assignment of the Marshal Rokossovsky and General Chernyakhovsky ferries of the autonomy class of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping is an important stage in the development of domestic autonomous navigation technology: this will allow us to gain practical experience in a-Navigation for the subsequent widespread introduction of autonomous navigation technologies in Russia and in the world.[1]
