2020: Start of the solution "Water Online Monitoring"

MegaFon continues to expand a portfolio of IoT-products and starts the complete solution "Water Online Monitoring". It will allow water utilities to automate processes, to online obtain detailed information on work of the objects which are in tens of kilometers from each other and will simplify control of water quality that is especially relevant at an intense epidemiological situation. Megafon reported about it on June 25, 2020.

Water utilities use difficult and expensive equipment, at the same time the majority of processes remain not automated. The solution of Megafon is integrated with already existing equipment, allows to integrate based on the IoT-platform in one system different metering devices and to doavtomatizirovat all chain of technology process, considerably having lowered load of employees.

We see a request for easy and inexpensive automation from water utilities and operators of hydraulic engineering constructions. The ecosystem of water utilities has the distributed structure, the distance between its separate parts can contain tens of kilometers. Thanks to different metering devices which are easily mounted and are quickly put into operation, "Water online monitoring" allows to collect remotely data on different sections of a production cycle in the uniform situational center, – Pavel Ivanchenko, the head on IoT of Megafon says.

Using this solution developed especially for water utilities, it is possible to control water delivery scopes in the round-the-clock mode, to see pressure loss in pipes, to reveal breaks, illegal connections and plunders and also to perform protection of infrastructure facilities.

"Water online monitoring" allows to estimate a condition of the arriving water, to pay close attention to quality of its cleaning on filtration plants, to exercise the increased control of sewage treatment that is especially important in the conditions of an epidemiological situation.

To pump stations the solution of Megafon helps to maintain automatically water level, to manage remotely the equipment and to increase its resource thanks to permanent condition monitoring.

The network of the NB-IoT standard provides high penetration of a signal and gives the chance to monitor a status of deeply lying pipes. At the same time the IoT-platform controls operability of the sensors installed in hard-to-reach spots and SIM cards which are in them.

The employee of a water utility obtains all information in a personal account of service, can create economic and technical reports for the sales organizations in the same place, trace dates of checkings of devices, transfer data to the settlement system of the enterprise (1C). Notifications on any emergency situations quickly come to the SMS and on e-mail.
