2019: Closing of service for restart

On February 22, 2019 MegaFon announced closing of telemedicine service " Megafon.health ", but at the same time promised that the project will be restarted and it will become better.

Termination of work of service " Megafon.health " became known from the message which was received by users from the operator.

MegaFon closed telemedicine service, but promised to restart it

The press service of MegaFon announced plans to start "the new high-quality service of own development using the electronic medical record which is going beyond normal telemedicine, having given to subscribers an opportunity of the independent choice of necessary medical service, the doctor and the medical company and also new opportunities for preserving of health and maintaining a healthy lifestyle". At the same time the company did not call terms of restart of service " Megafon.health ".

As told the vc.ru edition a source on telecommunication the solution, the solution of MegaFon to close service for medical online consultations, it can be connected with restrictions in the legislation in the field of telemedicine by February, 2019. The market is not ready to similar products as the law does not allow to write out references and to issue recipes on the Internet, and it is only possible to give consultation, the interlocutor of the portal argues.

The law on telemedicine which became effective since January 1, 2018 does not provide stages of delivery of health care, does not define the structural divisions providing medical care using telemedicine technologies and standards of their equipment. MegaFon noted that the law does not provide a possibility of a stop of the diagnosis and purpose of treatment to online consultations.

2018: Availability of service to subscribers of all operators

On November 26, 2018 MegaFon announced that subscribers of all operators can use telemedicine service " Megafon.health " now. It is possible to be connected to service in  all Russia and  beyond  its  limits.

Since November 26, 2018, clients of all telecom operators working in  zone +7 will be able to receive online consultation of doctors through mobile application " Megafon.health ".

Users of the updated program can contact the doctor by three methods:  using video conference, audio communication and  in  a chat. Urgent online consultation with  the therapist of access round the clock. Waiting of connection with  the doctor will make only several minutes.

Within large-scale updating of service the client will be able quickly to register through the annex to  the selected doctor and  on  an internal visit to  clinic — time of response to  the request, allegedly,  will not exceed 30  minutes.

The updated application " Megafon.health " allows to pay services from the account of the mobile phone and also provides the maximum discount at internal service of patients in  partner clinics.

By the end of November, 2018 such service is available only in  Moscow and  a number of the regional cities. However MegaFon is going to expand geography of work of service and for this purpose attracts new partners. In the first quarter 2019 the operator will cease to levy a payment for traffic when using the application " Megafon.health ".

MegaFon sees high potential in the telemedicine market and therefore actively works there. For example, several years the operator cooperates with the Krasnoyarsk clinical hospital within the joint project on remote ECG consultation and equips mobile cardiographs with SIM cards from which information is transmitted through M2M technology. In  Veliky Novgorod the telecommunication company is going to test the digital platform for rendering telemedicine services.[1]

2017: Start of service

In November, 2017 "Megafon" announced " Megafon.health " application launch. Now it is possible to visit the doctor without visit to clinic. Application "MegaFon. Health" (18+) is already available in digital shops Googlе Play and AppStore.

The application is developed together with Telehoney Help company. After installation of the application on the smartphone the user can receive online consultation of doctors through a video call, load and store documents and results of researches in the medical record. The payment for use of service will make 150 rub a month.

More than 1000 doctors of 39 specialties from 14 medical networks are presented in the application. These are the practicing specialists who combine remote communication with internal acceptances of patients in clinics of Moscow and Moscow area. It is possible to discuss injuries with the surgeon, the ENT specialist will tell about effective remedies from cold, the pediatrician will advise what to do if the child got sick. All recommendations will be saved in the application. Here it is possible to agree about further interaction with the doctor.

"We continue to develop a unique ecosystem of services and partnership, including in the field of digital health care. Our application we suggest clients to reduce the time spent on visits to doctors, and the most important - to give the chance to receive several expert opinions on the questions in "one window" - in the smartphone", - the director of new businesses and partnership of MegaFon company Jan Kukhalsky noted.

(18+) can use the application " Megafon.health " clients of Capital branch of MegaFon. In 2018 it will become available across all Russia.

Use of the application " Megafon.health " (18+) is not medical service. Online consultation does not replace internal acceptance at the doctor. Diagnosis and purpose of the plan of treatment it is possible only on internal acceptance in medical institutions.
