The MicroStrategy platform represents the uniform, unified architecture. The architecture includes:
1. The uniform, unified object model the area allowing to describe any business
2. The organic platform integrating the 11th component, allowing to use any object for the solution of a business challenge of any complexity.
All components entering the platform use an object-oriented paradigm of inheritance and encapsulation of objects for achievement of the maximum expansibility and performance. The object model is implemented by means of MicroStrategy metadata. Metadata contain business models, making blocks or objects necessary for the description. Metadata store these objects in the database for effective management, reuse and the best performance. Objects are used for creation of new objects, such as determination of the report. Thus, if one object changes, then all objects depending on it change. It allows to be sure of integrity and relevance of all objects and to minimize number of the created objects. Similar approach allows to refuse storage of static SQL expression in the report, and to directly store related business objects. Thereby the flexibility of analytic, functional and administrative functions is reached.
The MicroStrategy platform dynamic uses objects of metadata for creation of reports, protocols, panels, the analysis and warnings. The platform provides all 5 BI styles unified for the different user interfaces including portals, office applications of Microsoft, the Internet navigators, E-mail, network printers, the file servers, wireless devices and mobile phones. The MicroStrategy platform contains a set of the integrated products providing unique functionality.
