2020: Start of service
At the beginning of June, 2020 Microsoft released the new Azure Maps Creator tool which will allow the companies to create own maps of premises.
This tool enters set Microsoft Azure Maps service which the companies can use for development of different applications, for example, navigation. Using Creator of the company can create own maps of premises, for example, of factories or office buildings.
Microsoft believes that this tool will allow to create a number of new applications. Some of possible options of use include AR: Creator allows developers to transform files of drawings of the building to the card, to add additional data, for example location of Wi-fi routers on the card and to use this information for start of events in the application of augmented reality. For example, the hypothetical application can use such card to define on what floor of the building there is a network specialist, or to provide information on setup of network of the specific floor.
You can also create cross-platform solutions of the mixed reality using space bindings of Azure Spatial Anchors available on devices HoloLens, iOS and Android, - the senior manager of programs from the Azure Maps group Roberto Lucchi explained. |
Other set of scenarios which Microsoft provided for Azure Maps Creator keeps track of location on Wi-Fi. The new feature of Windows will allow IT commands to keep track of location of devices of employees using wireless Internet signals. Developers will be able to use this function with Azure Maps Creator for creation of cards which show location of devices in real time.[1]
