Microsoft Cloud Platform System is the hardware-software solution of a type the "cloud in a box" intended for fast deployment of hybrid cloud services. The platform supports synchronization with a public cloud of Azure and is created based on the equipment of Dell.
2010: The first experience of "a cloud in a box"

It became possible thanks to the fact that CPS and Azure use the identical software, including the solutions HyperV, Windows Systems Center and Azure Pack. Thus, users of CPS will be able to have the opportunities inherent to public Azure in a private cloud.
It is reported that the ready Microsoft CPS platform will be available at the beginning of November, 2014. Its cost for customers at the moment is officially not announced. According to some information, which provide the ZDNet edition, it is about more than $2.6 million.
The equipment supplier for CPS selects the world's third producer of servers and computers of Dell to which Microsoft is connected long ago by partner communications. Leaders of this market of HP and IBM also offer own clouds competing with Azure. In particular, HP advances the hybrid HP Helion cloud environment working based on OpenStack.
