Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 (FEP)

Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 (FEP) is the solution on protection of client places and server operating systems (endpoints) of viruses and other malware Forefront Client Security. The anti-virus Forefront engine integrated with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 allows customers to use the existing management tools client devices for deployment and management of their protection. Such infrastructure reduces the cost of ownership and considerably increases quality of control of end devices.

New Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 key features:

• Integration with Configuration Manager. The single interface for management and protection reduces complexity of infrastructure and accelerates detection of faults and a reporting preparation.
• Considerably modifed anti-virus engine. Includes new technology of detection of malware for their behavior. The new behavioural monitor provides immediate (zero day) protection against new threats using the special emulator and technology of instant updating (dynamic translation).
• Protection against vulnerabilities. Integration of the new technology of blocking of the attacks on the known vulnerabilities of endpoints into the deep analysis of network protocols and network traffic of the Network Inspection System (NIS) applications for the first time implemented within the Threat Management Gateway (TMG) firewall considerably increases the level of security of endpoints from network attacks.
• Control of the firewall. Allows system administrators to be sure that the personal firewall works at all endpoints and provides ease of management.

Among key features of the new version of Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 there is an updated anti-virus engine which guarantees more effective detection of threats and provides reliable protection against new versions of potentially dangerous programs and rootkits with the minimum quantity of false operations. New mechanisms of the behavioural analysis and monitoring will help to cope with poorly studied threats. FEP supports Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and all subsequent versions client and the Windows server platforms.
