Microsoft SharePoint 2010

At the SharePoint Conference conference in the fall 2012 Microsofts showed a set of the innovations available in SharePoint 2013, and reported that in a new product the emphasis on a social component, clouds and mobility is placed.

SharePoint is one of the most popular business products of Microsoft for all history of the company. Today its share in an annual income of Microsoft makes 2 bln. dollars.

"These indicators speak about loyalty and effective work of our users, partners and developers for SharePoint, – Jeff Teper, the corporate vice president, Microsoft says. – New SharePoint is a key release which not only represents set of impressive innovations, but also lays the foundation for development and implementation of new innovations in the future".

Microsoft also presented the vision of the future of the companies in the development plan for corporate social networks.

"We see the world in which social networks are integrally interwoven into applications with which you work every day, the world where people work together, using the new opportunities including social networks and tools for joint work and the joint communications", – Jeff Teper says.

As the first step within promotion of this idea, the company shared the action plan on integration of SharePoint and Yammer. Today customers can integrate two systems: Yammer Web and Yammer Open Graph. As the next step of Microsoft plans creation of uniform access point of the user, integrated management of documents and a uniform news feed.

To correspond to this action plan, Microsoft also announced changes in a packet and cost of Yammer, consolidating paid services Yammer in the uniform offer of Yammer Enterprise and reducing the cost of service from 15 dollars to 3 dollars for the user in a month. For the customers working according to the program of licensing Enterprise Agreement, Microsoft is going to include Yammer Enterprise in Microsoft SharePoint Online and the corporate tariff plans Office 365 without change of the total price.

"It means that users will receive the best cloud service for increase in business productivity and the best corporate social network at the same time – Office 365 plus Yammer, – David Sacks, the corporate vice president, Microsoft says. – These changes are only the first steps to that future where Yammer will be the main tool for implementation of opportunities of social networks in business applications".

Except large changes in SharePoint Online Microsoft also announced an innovation in SharePoint 2013 – a possibility of creation of cloud applicaions on the SharePoint platform for more than 700,000 developers. The new model of creation of cloud applicaions and new Shop Office simplify development, purchase, deployment and management of applications using the available skills of web development.

And at last, to help people to work from any place and from any device, Microsoft provided the new mobile applications of SharePoint designed to give to people access to news feeds and documents of SharePoint on all Windows 8, Windows Phone, IOS and Android devices. All these applications will work both for SharePoint 2013, and for SharePoint Online.
