Universal of Windows Platform - the universal Windows platform is intended for creation of the uniform application for a range of devices running Windows 10.
On April 30, 2015 the Microsoft company announced Universal of Windows Platform.
Elements of the user interface automatically adapt to the different sizes of the screen, and the developer will be able to consider unique opportunities of each device in the application. The platform allows developers to embed in the applications such technologies as the personal assistant to Cortana and game service Xbox Live, safe purchases, the natural user interface, conversion of applications to holograms and many other things.
The universal Windows platform includes a possibility of Continuum[1] - function which is developed within Windows 10 and will be available to smartphones and computers together with the final version of OS. Continuum allows to connect the smartphone to the external display and the periphery, turning it into this computer. Applications and a desktop automatically adapt under the new screen for comfortable work that requires the sufficient computing power of phone. And though earlier assumption became that Continuum can be started on any by Windows phone, it became known later that Continuum will work only on new devices.
