2021: Submission of Microsoft Viva
On February 4, 2021 Microsoft submitted Microsoft Viva – the platform for professional development and maintenance of a favorable emotional status of employees which contains tools for ensuring the involvement and training and also an opportunity for knowledge sharing in the course of work. Viva will provide absolutely other experience thanks to integration into instruments of performance improvement and joint work in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.
In the conditions of permanent changes in area of job management demand for the solutions maintaining corporate culture and also allowing to perform convenient search in the knowledge base and training on the job grows. Analysts estimate turnover of the arising market of the Employee Experience platforms at $300 billion a year. For February, 2021 there is a large number of separate services and tools, however their potential is effectively under-exploited by the staff of the companies which invested in them.

Microsoft Viva through Teams and Microsoft 365 integrates tools for creation of a working environment on four indicators: involvement, improvement of an emotional status, training and knowledge sharing.

Viva Connections represents the personalized digital workplace allowing the employee to perform internal communications and to get access to resources of the company, such as collection of domestic policy, news, etc. and also to corporate communities. All this will be available within the configured application in Microsoft Teams. The Connections application for the PC will appear for preliminary public testing in the first half of 2021, and mobile application – until the end of 2021.
Viva Insights will help employees to plan more competently the time, distributing it for the periods for the work requiring concentration, training and breaks that will allow to reduce risk of emotional burning out. Managers will receive recommendations for creation of a healthy command, and heads – the tool for creation of organizational models and tracking of trends. It will allow not only to improve unity of commands, but also, for example, it is better to plan office spaces for hybrid work. Clients will also be able to use data of third-party services, such as Zoom, Workday and SAP SuccessFactors.
Viva Learning does possibilities of training and professional development more open and available in the course of work. It integrates all educational resources available to the company, in one place, including content from Microsoft Learn, rates from third-party providers, including SkillSoft, Coursera, Pluralsight and edX and also own library of content of the organization.
Viva Topics represents the tool giving the chance it is convenient to find necessary information and to contact experts in all company. The solution uses algorithms of artificial intelligence for the automatic organization of all-corporate content and examination for categories, such as "projects", "products", "processes" and "clients". Viva Topics automatically creates cards with subjects when employees work in such applications as M365 and Teams in which information on documents, video and the experts connected with a subject integrates. The ability to integrate information from different third-party services, such as ServiceNow and Salesforce is also provided.
