Milestone Arcus

The Milestone Systems company developing software for management of IP video (VMS) on the open platform announced in the spring of 2013 Milestone Arcus release – platforms built in video surveillances for simple and inexpensive security systems. The Arcus platform is compatible to OS Linux, Mac OSX and Windows, set in network storages, cameras or other boundary devices.

Milestone Arcus is multiplatform software for manufacturers of hardware which can be built in the products released by them and to sell as the solution, non-standard, ready to use. The name of such built-in solutions will include also the Milestone trademark. So far offers of Milestone company were submitted by the solutions Milestone XProtect working at Windows OS. With Arcus release the partners of Milestone who are building in its platform hardware devices of all form factors will be able to offer at reasonable price to clients the advanced instrument of video management.

Milestone Arcus is the first development of the new business division Incubation & Ventures of the company created in 2012. The platform should accelerate transition of clients from analog video to IP video. Today, according to expert evaluations, about 60% of the market of physical means of protecting still use the analog equipment, and it is supposed that all these devices will be transformed to IP devices.
