2022: App Exit
In mid-July 2022, Healthy.io announced the launch of the Minuteful Kidney app, which allows early diagnosis of kidney disease at home. According to the developers, the service works on the basis of artificial intelligence, and the test itself requires only a smartphone available to the patient.
Minuteful Kidney includes the standard albumin to creatinine ratio (ACR) test, which is commonly used as one of the first measures of kidney injury. The test itself measures the amount of albumin in the patient's urine. Because persistently elevated compared to average urine protein content is a major and early symptom of kidney damage, this test may help diagnose chronic kidney disease in its earliest stages.
According to the Healthy.io, the Minuteful Kidney testing app and kit is the first smartphone-based ACR home test to hit the market for July 2022. The mobile app supports operating systems such as Android and Apple.
We have the experience, results and regulatory assurances to fundamentally change the way Americans track chronic diseases with a smartphone camera! In fact, Minuteful Kidney is a digital antidote that can help every person at risk dramatically reduce the likelihood of undergoing dialysis, "said Healthy.io founder and CEO Yonatan Adiri. |
Once a patient receives a test kit in the mail, the Minuteful Kidney app guides them through the process of collecting a urine sample, taking a swab using a probe, and placing a sample strip on a special color board. After that, the patient photographs the strip with the camera of his phone, and the application does everything else. The app uses colorimetric analysis, computer vision and AI technology to analyze the sample and get results immediately, automatically providing users and their treating physicians with an albumin assessment.
In April 2022, the Minuteful Kidney testing app and kit went as part of the Ax-1 mission to the International Space Station (ISS), where astronauts will be able to use a version of the test adapted to the difficulties of collecting a urine sample in space to monitor kidney function away from home.[1][2]
