2020: The announcement of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross crossover with built in offline - navigation
On November 10, 2020 Mitsubishi Motors officially provided the updated Eclipse Cross crossover and called it the first-ever car from built in offline - navigation which basis was a what3words service.
Creators of what3words divided the Earth's surface into 57 trillion squares of 3 x 3 meters in size, having appropriated to each of them a certain combination from accidental three words. As a result of it it was succeeded to increase position fix accuracy to 2 meters. In a case with the updated Eclipse Cross service is integrated with the navigation system of TomTom.
The connectivity Apple of CarPlay and Android Auto is provided in all complete sets of the updated Eclipse Cross. The full-color head display (HUD) displays indicators of the meter panel, the notification and navigation signals. Engineers also specially developed the sound Mitsubishi Power Sound System system which includes the powerful 510-watt amplifier and 8 loudspeakers.
Equipment of the updated Eclipse Cross included such technologies of the help to the driver as an adaptive cruise control (ACC), the system of mitigation of the consequences of head-on collision (FCM), an alerting system about a descent from a lane (LDW), monitoring of "blind" zones (BSW) when changing a band (LCA) and an automatic driving beam (AHB) in response to acceleration, deceleration or a stop of vehicles or objects ahead.
Car length in comparison with the previous version grew to 4545 mm (+140 mm). Other sizes former: width — 1805 mm, height — 1685 mm, wheel base — 2670 mm. The clearance is reduced up to 175 mm (-8 mm). The power unit did not change: the 1.5 liters petrol turbocharged 4-cylinder engine (power — 150 hp, twisting — the moment 250 H·l) is available with a variator, the front and four-wheel drive with the S-AWC system.
At first restyling Eclipse Cross will be on sale in the markets of Australia and New Zealand, and then will go on sale in Japan and North America. The innovation debut in Russia is planned for 2021. The prices by November 11 of the 2020th do not reveal.[1]
