MySQL Fabric is open source solution for management of farms of MySQL-servers.
On May 27, 2014 the Oracle corporation announced release of the solution MySQL Fabric for satisfaction of requirement modern cloud and web applications.
MySQL Fabric is the integrated system, it simplifies management of groups of databases of MySQL, provides how high readiness on the basis of identification of failures and redirection of load of a duplicative node, and scalability, by means of automated [1] of data.
Possibilities of MySQL Fabric
Automatic identification of failures and recovery of service when using together with MySQL Replication for ensuring high readiness, including:
- Monitoring of the main database. At failure of a master server of MySQL Fabric selects one of the subordinated servers and does it by the main thing.
- The automatic direction of transactions on the current main database and balancing of loadings on accomplishment of requests for the subordinated databases. The topology and a status of servers are transparent for the application.
Automatic sharding and repeated sharding of data simplifies management of this process for groups of development and operation (DevOps). It helps users:
- Provide sharding of tables for horizontal scaling of read operations and record.
- Select tables which need sharding, specify columns for use as sharding keys, including whether it is necessary to use a hash sectioning or sectioning on ranges of values.
- Move existing [2] into new servers or to separate them into a set of shards.
Expansions for connectors PHP, Python also Java allow to direct transactions and requests directly to necessary MySQL- the server, excepting the additional delay caused by passing via the proxy server.
MySQL Fabric supports high willingness thanks to automatic identification of failures and recovery of service and also the automatic sharding of data available to all applications. Releasing the integrated open source code system, Oracle simplifies safe horizontal scaling of the MySQL-applications unrolled in a corporate or cloud environment.
A system is available to loading on the website of developer company.
MySQL Fabric 1.5
On November 6, 2014 Oracle announced updating of the version of MySQL Fabric 1.5.
The new version of MySQL Fabric 1.5 develops and manages servers using the software of OpenStack, supports additional types of keys of sharding (sharding key).
