2023: Plan for Connected Vehicle Cybersecurity Platform
FSUE, US JSC and GLONASSKaspersky Lab"" jointly develop the cloudy platform. cyber security connected vehicles This was announced on July 10, 2023 by the GLONASS company.
| The explosive increase in the share of connected and highly automated cars over the past five years has led to a twofold increase in cyber attacks and hacks of vehicle control systems. The created platform of the federal level will protect the data of owners of personal and commercial vehicles in Russia, improve the safety of passenger and freight transport by timely detecting cyber attacks and eliminating such existing threats to modern vehicles, as remote blocking of vehicles, interception of control while driving, replacing information and updating software without notifying drivers - said Fedor Nazarov, General Director of FSUE NAMI.

The cybersecurity platform also provides monitoring of the uncontrolled cross-border exchange of data connected vehicles for July 2023. The General Director of GLONASS JSC Alexey Raikevich noted that joint work with FSUE NAMI and Kaspersky Lab will allow introducing Russia world-class advanced solutions in terms of automotive cybersecurity. The platform involves two classes of solution - cloud and local, focused on Russian automakers with increased privacy requirements.
| The infrastructure of the ERA-GLONASS state information system provides within the framework of the project a trusted environment and a single bus of information interaction between cars and telematic platforms, the transfer of these data in Russian jurisdiction in an uncorrected form. A car with a Russian-designed TCU, unlike its foreign counterparts, is connected to the communication network of GLONASS JSC, - explained Alexey Raikevich. - This approach eliminates the situation when car owners are simply not aware that their cars constantly transmit a stream of data outside Russia or receive false commands online. The entire process of exchanging information with cars will be recorded. The platform will save millions of vehicle users from deliberate attacks, hacker interception of machine control, as a result of which roads and cities can be blocked, damage to people and the state.

The implementation of the platform involves the launch of the state center for the detection, prevention and elimination of the consequences of computer attacks on vehicles - Vehicle Security Operation Center (VSOC). It will allow you to promptly notify of attacks, provide information to respond to incidents on the scale of organizations, automakers and the country as a whole.
| Innovative technologies are actively used in the transport sector, and cybersecurity issues are becoming especially relevant. According to analysts, the volume of the connected car market will increase several times in the next five years. I would like to note that our partners are serious and thoughtful about the topic of information security in the automotive industry. We are actively working together to make smart cars really safe. To do this, we share the experience and knowledge accumulated over more than 25 years in combating cyber threats, and offer the automotive industry tools to build effective, convenient and safe solutions throughout the car's life cycle, "said Anna Kulashova, Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab in Russia and CIS countries.
