Getting Nissan's former factory into administration

Purchase of Robert Bosch Samara LLC

On June 13, 2023, FSUE NAMI entered into a deal to acquire 100% of Robert Bosh Samara LLC, a plant located in the Samara Region. Previously, the company was engaged in the production of steering systems, ABS anti-lock system and ESP dynamic stabilization system. Read more here.

NAMI became the sole owner of AvtoVAZ

The state corporation Rostec left the shareholders of AvtoVAZ, transferring to the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Research Automobile and Motor Institute (NAMI), which is subordinate to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a share of 32.3% in Lada Avto Holding is a joint venture controlled by AvtoVAZ. In October 2022, it became known that all Russian assets of the Nissan automaker, including the plant, will go into state ownership in the person of FSUE NAMI. Under the terms of the sale, Nissan is entitled to make a reverse purchase of the company and business over the next six years.

Getting Renault's 67.69% stake in AvtoVAZ

Renault's Russian assets are becoming state ownership, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation said on May 16, 2022. The share in AvtoVAZ is FSUE NAMI (67.69% of the shares), the remaining shares of the carmaker will be retained by Rostec Group of Companies, the Renault Russia plant will be owned by the Moscow Government (100% of the shares).

Maintenance of Renault cars in the Russian Federation will now be carried out by AvtoVAZ.

The deal to nationalize Renault's assets implies the possibility of a repurchase of the stake by a foreign concern over the next six years.

Plan to obtain Renault's stake in Avtovaz with the possibility of a buyback within 6 years

In February 2014, the government announced that it would allocate 3.6 billion rubles to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. 1994-2003

In 1994, the Institute received the status of the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation, in 2003 the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology of Russia accredited the State Research Center of the Russian Federation FSUE NAMI as the Test Center for Automotive Products (ICAI) - a technical service with the right to conduct tests according to the UNECE Rules.
